When it comes to vehicle maintenance, a tune up is one of the most essential steps to keeping your car running smoothly and safely.
- The more you drive the more wear and tear you do to your engine.
- Regular maintenance will extend the life of your vehicle.
- Regular maintenance is not only good for your vehicle, its necessary!
When we drive every day whether we drive fast or slow, our vehicles requires a certain amount of maintenance.
How often does your vehicle need a Tune up?
Chances are you’ve heard someone say you need a tune up every 40,000 to 60,000 miles.
The reality of the answer is that it really just depends on what type of vehicle you have.
If you have a vehicle that was made in the 1980’s, odds are you need a Tune-up every 30,000 Miles! With that being said that’s also considered a decently older vehicle. Although the older vehicles need a Tune-up more often, they are also a lot easier to do and less expensive depending on the vehicle.
If you have a more modern vehicle odds are you more than likely need a Tune-up every 80,000 to 100,000 Miles. Please do note however that after you get a Tune-up on your vehicle, you will need to get it done more often. Once you are done with your first Tune-up its good to check how your engine is firing after every 20,000 miles or so. Plus be sure to keep up with regular maintenance as this will decrease the chance of issues with your vehicle.
Regular Maintenance will include:
- Oil Level/Condition
- Coolant Levels
- Transmission Fluid level/condition
